Terms of purchase · last updated 2026-10-08
What you are buying, and what you are not.
Written to be read, not to be waved at. If something here is unclear, ask before you buy.
The software
StitchPress is free software, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or (at your option) any later version. The full text ships with the plugin as LICENSE.txt. The GPL gives you the right to run, study, change and redistribute the code. Nothing you buy from us limits those rights.
What the purchase is
A StitchPress licence is a paid subscription to updates and support for one year, for the number of live sites the plan names: Shop 1, Studio 3, Agency 25. It also licenses the use of the StitchPress name and logo as they appear in the plugin. It is not a licence to use the code; the GPL already grants that.
A licence key activates a site. Sites recognised as local, development or staging (WordPress environment type, or a host such as localhost, a .local or .test address, or a name with staging, stage or dev as its own part) are recorded but never counted against the plan.
Renewal and expiry
The licence renews yearly at the same price unless you cancel it. When a licence expires, StitchPress keeps working with every feature; updates and support stop until you renew.
Refunds
Full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, by email to support@stitchpress.io with your order number. Renewals follow the same rule, 14 days from the renewal charge. After a refund the licence key stops receiving updates.
Payment and taxes
Purchases are made through Freemius, which acts as merchant of record: it processes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, issues the licence key and processes refunds.
Support
Support is by email, with a first reply within two business days (Monday to Friday, US Eastern). What it covers and does not cover is in the support policy, which is part of these terms.
What the licence does not include
- Fonts or colour libraries. StitchPress ships none; you upload fonts you hold licences for and import your own thread or ink chart.
- Custom development, custom skins, digitizing, or configuration of your store beyond support.
- Any promise about the results your shop will get.
Warranty and liability
As the GPL says, the program is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We fix bugs on supported versions as part of support; we do not accept liability for lost orders, lost profit or other losses arising from the use of the software. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be limited by contract.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the previous version stays available on request. A change never shortens a refund window you already have.
